Tizen 6.0 clients AU800 and HQ60A are unable to play HLS or HTTP videos. The bug/issue stems for Linux kernel limitations in Samsung firmware. To rectify the issue, the TV must use a different version of the Tizen app (wgt) which is available on a different URL:
This can be done remotely through the cloud portal.
Instructions:
Enter https://setupmy.tv/tz6 as the URL and press SEND MESSAGE.
The TV will immediately power off and install the new wgt. This process will also disconnect it from our push server so it’ll appear as offline/unreachable in the portal. It must be powered on again using a remote control.
Once the TV is back on it will successfully play HLS streams/HTTP (mp4) videos.
For some reason, when powering on the TV it will in some cases show an error message saying that the install failed. Simply press OK on the “REINSTALL” or “RETRY” button and it will work.
This happens about 20% of the times. The other 80% times it will automatically launch our app and appear online in the portal right away.
